Pumpkin - Tiny Serama Rooster (indoor/outdoor pet!) in Rindge, New Hampshire For Sale
Type: Animals, For Sale - Private.
ABOUT PUMPKIN
Pumpkin hatched March 2, xxxx. He's a smooth (feathered) Black Tailed Buff Serama rooster with a curious, independent, but sweet personality. He loves to dig at the grass, perch as high as he can, and see what his humans are up to. He's a plucky little fellow with a nice stance. Would make a great pet or breeder for someone. He was hatched from an incubator and lived inside the house for the first couple months of his life and is currently living outdoors in a chicken tractor.
ABOUT SERAMAS
Ever want a bird that is so domesticated it'll never bite you, one that can't learn how to swear or one that can live indoors or out? Well this might be your answer!
Seramas are the smallest chicken breed in the world and have only been in the US for a little over a decade so they'll still pretty rare. They only grow to be approximately the size of a soda can. Their crow is about 1/4 the volume as the large breed roosters you see and they sound like a broken toy more than a rooster. (Just check out Pumpkin's dad Popcorn crowing in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jT17ZCfxrgY ) Better yet they only go off a few times a day, not all day and all night like some other breeds!
Seramas are popular pets in Malaysia where they are from - so popular they out number cats and dogs there! In the US they are gaining popularity because they can be kept indoors or out and you can even buy diapers for them! They're personable, cuddly, soft, and very cheap to keep. If you have one rooster he'll probably eat a $7 bag of food over the course of 2-4 months depending on how big he is and if he wastes any or eats it all.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
If you have any questions please e-mail me. I will try to reply as quick as I can. And sorry I do not have any hens at this time but I may have different colors and varieties of Serama roosters throughout the warmer months. Thanks.
